One (1) year experience as a Welder. Successful applicant must be able to obtain military base access. Off-island hires must complete a health screening prior to working on Guam. Must pass practical/qualification “hands on” welding test. Must be able to pass certification.

Adhere to established safety procedures and company policies. Operate equipment in a responsible manner. Interpret blueprints and drawings and take measurements to plan layouts and welding procedures. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead). Proficient in shielded metal arc (SMA) welding, reading and understanding weld prints and symbols. Perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by the foreperson. Uses materials/supplies in efficient manner. Follows established safety procedures and policies. Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding. Maintain and inspect welding machinery. Enforce strict regulations, including the use of protective gear. Perform welding in flat, vertical and overhead positions. Obtain parts and access area to be welded by climbing ladder if necessary, working at heights and in confined spaces. Utilize a disc grinder to smooth, weld or grind parts. Inspect weld to ensure bead size and quality.
Special wage rate: Work to be performed on DPRI-funded projects and projects covered by Davis Bacon, Service Contracts Act, and/or Executive Order 14206 will be paid no less than the indicated wage rate but may be paid more where special rates apply.
